Here's the low down basically stock 88 vert with A4 & stock rearend. Mods are TPI totally worked over with SLP runners and Doug Rippie intake along with 52MM TB all hogged out and port matched. Roller Rockers 1.6 intake and 1.52 exhaust. Has an after market chip and the cooling system has been set up to come on at 204 and shut off at 178. Also has ajustable fuel pressure regulator. Coolant in the TB has been bypassed also the exhaust has the MAD offroad pipes with no pre cats a Ramdon tech cat and a borla cat back system and basically thats it i think. Ok with this situation which cam should i use LPE 211 or 216 or mabe the TPIS cam or something, i'm not trying to get too crazy still have to pass emissions. :confused:
If cost is an issue, don't discount a take out zz4.
I have gone 12.89@108 with the same setup as you and this cam on only my second time out It still has more in it yet. I get 25 mpg cruising as well so i am very happy :D
Yes its a zz4 cam. i payed $100 for it from a place in texas, can't remenber the name but lots of people sell them as take out parts, do a search on zz4 or look on e bay. I ported my heads at the same time as i did the cam.
It idles ok at 800 rpm pulls well up to my 5000rpm shift point and i still have the std converter in the box.
I am now looking for mid 12's from this setup.
For the money you cannot beat it as long as you have all the other mods to go with it which you have.
