I have the ZZ9 with my Miniram. I am happy with the performance but I think the ZZ-409 would be better. If I didn't get the great deal on my ZZ9 when I got it, I would have done the ZZ-409

I too think the ZZ409 would be better for street use, but the ZZ9X should make a bit more power because of the longer duration on the intake side

Why would the zz409 be better? More low en power?

because you would make enough torque down low, and you would still be able to have a good idle as compared to the ZZ-X

the zzx cam is almost too big for a hyd. lifter the zz409 cam is almost perfect for a street / strip MR engine, the 409 isn't really all too far off the grind i have & i'm just thrilled peak power is rougly 6200-6400rpm by seat of the pants feeling & i shift at 6500 with a rev limiter set at 6700. the one thing i do like about the MR is it killls some of the low rpm torque, on a 6spd car it's definatly nice. with the old TPI the engine woke up so fast it was all but impossible to get traction on street meat. as it sits with the MR i can drive 10mph, punch it & have traction till roughly 4500rpm, once i get in the power band it just breaks loose. with a little skill i can keep it planted but i definatly know i'll be running faster ET's with better rubber !!

more, with afr 190's a MR 11:1 and 409 you'd be closer to 440hp
