Default Rebuild Optispark (possible?)

I have an extra Optispark that I want to rebuild. It's for a 93 LT1 and I was wondering if anyone knows where I can purchase the O ring, bearing and dist cap gasket. I have a new cap/rotor and this one is vented. Thanks Guys........Any help is appreciated.....

You can, but not worth rebuilding it if the sensor in it is bad. Not sure where you could get those parts, but I would ask any company that sales optis.

Really?

My '96 LT4 with approx. 124K miles is running just fine on the factory original Opti.

Probably somewhere like McMaster Carr or MSC to name a few. Just buy them as a generic part. If the cap gasket is paper just make one out of gasket material. For the bearing I would stick with SK or Timkin.

You can check the Opti for electrical operation as follows: Unplug the cable going to the Opti in the engine. Plug it into the Opti to test. Have someone watch the tachometer with the ignition on while you spin the Opti shaft counterclockwise. If the electronics, including the sensor, is working the tach needle will rise up according to how fast the shaft is spun. I assume that electronic display tachs will do similarly. Probably a good idea to pull the injector fuse(s) first.

Late to this party, but wanted to ask if anyone did in fact try out the sac city opti? Now years later how's it going?

I've used ACDelco for my first 2 replacements. Just rolled over 200,000 miles and its time for another.

Ihave a saccity opti for 3 yrs now in my '95, after having 2 AC Delco units fail in 18 months. Very happy with saccity, easy to email/call with questions.

If anyone is looking for Mitsubishi sensor,go to a junkyard. There are plenty of low mile Optis there with low miles. You just need a new cap and rotor. IF ANYONE WOULD ANSWER THE QUESTION ,I was also wondering where to buy the gaskets

Look up optidoctor on here or ebay. He rebuilds these as a business and has all the parts and gaskets. Dan
