Default Stroke an engine ?

If you stroke an engine what changes has to be done to the ECM to make it run correctly , can a custom chip will be ok becouse I am cosidering of doing a cam shaft on my 88 and I tought of stroking it to 396 or 427!! and what do you think of the ZZ-9X camshaft from tpis ? my vette is not a daily driver ! and want more power !! what do you think !! does a custom chip will handle the cam shaft and the stroker engine ??
thanks in advance :chevy

Yes a custom PROM will be necessary for the ZZ9X, although it wont have a good idle at all most likely, it will make good power, esp with a 396.

So you are saying that with a custom chip I will be good even with the stroker kit ??? if yes I am going to do it !! also !! summit sells a kit to stroke a small block chevy that says to 427c.i that includes 4130 forged steel crank , Clevite bearings , 4340 forged steel rods , JE/SRP pistons and speed pro piston rings for $1,895 does that kit fits into my 88 corvette L-98 yes or no ?? does that kit and a custom chip from Ed Wright will be ok ??Imagine the power the engine makes from that kit !!

Yes it fits, once you have your engine clearanced by a machine shop and bored out. The bottom of the block to have some material removed.

Ed Wright or any chip tuner will be able to make the necessary adjustments for your stroker motor. I'm not sure exactly what all needs to be changed but they can change it no problem.

yes, a chip will be able to work with a 396 and ZZ9X cam. Youd be better off having it tuned locally in this case i think, something that aggressive might require refined tuning.

I live in malta (europe) and no one knows how to work on vettes espechialy electronics,I am lucky that I found a guy that owns a vette and he knows how to work on vettes ( mechanical ) but not electronics that`s why I asked about a chip doing the tuning !!! he told me that we can take the engine out and in but I leave the electronics tuning to you !!! So I guess that If I give all the engine information and specs to Ed Wright he can make a custom chip for me !! What do you think ??

Well in that case, Ed would be your best bet.
