Just an FYI for everybody. I apologize if this is old news over here. Anyway, a bunch of thirdgenners have been ordering the SLP runners from Summit. SLP has apparently discontinued them, and Summit is liquidating them. The 85-88 style with the cold start injector provisions are something like $185, and the 89+ without the cold start hole are $155!! That's less than most people pay for them used.
I just figured I'd let people know, since the runners seem to be fairly popular here. Also remember (or do a search) that it's possible for the cold start guys to switch over to the non-cold start runners at minimal cost (well below the difference in price between the 2 sets of runners).
they are a semi siamese runner that needs some moderate port work to match up right to the plenum and big mouth base. also look really great powdercoated, spend $155 on the runners and $40 on a standard abrasives porting kit, whip out your drill and you'll have a really nice combo before you know it.
FYI... There's another thread (Which Runners to use with TPIS Big Mouth Intake) going that says the SLP runners are not as good as the runners from AS&M (Arizona Sport & Marine) or TPIS and how the SLP runners should be ignored even though they are cheaper.... So it might all depend upon how well you want them to match up to the intake and/or how much trouble and/or talent you want to go through or have in modifying them.
Re: Summit is liquidating SLP runners (88-L98-Z52)
they aren't as good as the TPIS or AS&M, not by a long shot the SLPs are a good deal if you know how to do port work & want to spend 4-5 hrs getting rid of there flaws. as&m semi siamese runners much better but they are $475 VS $155, a super ram will still kill the AS&M runners & isn't much more money
