Tach filter

In redoing my harness the wire snapped off the end of the black inline filter for the tach. I noticed its a clip-in in-line setup, doesnt have to be there, the wire will connect to the dist still. Is the filter needed? something I can put on when I can? I am wrapping the harness and want to know if I can wrap those wires without the filter. Also if I can run/drive the car without the filter?

Anyone know what a new one costs?

Just remove it. It wont affect anything.

You have to remove it if you plan on running an MSD ignition so just snip and clip and go with it.
