Default Super Ram question

Does the throttle pressure cable run inboard of the runners, or outboard?( along the valve cover ) It looks like I will have to modify the throttle cable bracket to move the trans cable lower, and closer to the plenum. How have others done it?

Try it like the picture I attached. That was how I did mine when I had one.

Thank you. Has the bracket on the manifold been modified? The bracket I have looks like the one lying loose below.

Default I think I goofed

I assembled the intake on the new motor outside the car. Now that the motor is installed, it looks like the TV cable can't be wiggled under the plenum. Do I have to remove the plenum to lay in the cable or is there a way to take apart the cable to slide it in there? I'm in a very dark place right now.

I'm guessing you probably will have to remove the intake since you don't want to screw up the cable or risk screwing it up. Why do you think it is so difficult? The intake is held down by 16 bolts, IIRC. 8 are on the outside which is easy. Your PITA is the other 8 on the inside, correct? If so, here are 2 tricks.

Hand tighten the outboard bolts. Slot (not the British slang) the inside ones. Use your fingers (if they are too fat, find yourself a hottie and have fun as she is bent over the car or a midget ) to position the bolts and use a small screwdriver to turn the slot. That should make life easier.

Drill out the bolt holes on the plenum. Drill out holes on the runner and use helicores. Blue locktite the bolts and insert from the top.

The former was taught to me after I bitched to LPE's crew about how difficult it was to do and they said "Have you tried.....?".

If you do that, do NOT reuse the gaskets. They are like condoms to me in that respect. I don't reuse either. If the tricks work, you might consider buying me a lap dance with a hottie stripper so we can help put her through college. Everybody wins.

Little hotties have been off limits for a long while now, so all the fun falls on me. I've been hating this car for 15 years, no reason to stop now. Thanks for the laugh and the quick reply.

Not sure i understand the idea of running the cable under the plenum as you could see in both pictures posted the cables run over top and around side of plenum and into bracket! But if you have to remove plenum, which I've done three times, use the suggestion of slotting the end of bolt but I purchased a ratchet wrench that fit the bolt, insert bolt in ratchet, the length of the wrench allows you to reach the interior holes and when to insert in hole you can see the slot from the top of plenum. insert a small straight blade screwdriver into slot and screw it in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is a difference. The pic I posted has an auto trans. The other is manual. For auto, the kickdown cable has to go under

Default tv cable

The cable can be slid out of the adjuster if you trim the stops on the slider. I was just about to cut off the swage on the cable to slide it out when I decided to power up the fuel pump. You guessed it, leak at regulator O ring. Back to the dark place again.

For the price of gaskets I'd really hate to cut apart the cable but that is me.

Default Life is good

All back together, should be firing up in a day or so. BTW, Tim at LPE will E mail the original installation instructions. Not that it matters now, but Kudos for customer service.

Official or unofficial? IIRC the official ones never had the slotted screws
