Default Windscreen trim

Hi, I have an "86 C4. all the stainless trim is cracked and faded.
What is the correct colour of the stainless trim for the windshield and the weather strip retainers?
Are the originals powder coated or painted, matt or glossy?
any help will be much appreciated.
thanks & regards.

Cornelius, I will be doing the same on my 1986. My research tells me that either SEM trim black, or S EM landau black. The finish is a satin. between semigloss and matte. my local store had the Landau black so that is what I will be trying.
I think they were painted as opposed to powder coating? I'm not sure why I think that, was powder coating even a thing in 1986?I will be repainting mine sometime over the next four weeks and will definitely post up photos before and after

Just did this last spring. The trim is painted semi-gloss or satin black. After years in the sun the paint looks flat black. I used Dupli-color self-etching primer and also their satin black. Don't have the can handy so I don't have the exact name or number, but I'm sure you can find it.

First, these parts are sort of fragile when they are off the car. It can be really hard to replace them. I used liquid paint remover to get all the old paint off instead of sanding because of them being easily bent by sanding.

Went over them gently with 400 grit sand paper then used self etching primer. Let that dry really well and apply the black paint (2-3 coats). I only really worried about the "money side" so I really didn't clean the backs as well as the fronts.

They look like new now, did it over about 2-3 days while I was working on other things. Hope this helps!
