If an O2 sensor was not working or not hooked up, the computer would revert to a preset map for that input. The car would run fine to a normal person, but to a Corvette owner it probably wouldn't feel quite right. In most cases, that preset map would be a little on the rich side, so as not to lean out the air/fuel mixture and cause detonation. And since we all know lean is mean, the too rich mixture would likely make the car feel a little sluggish, for a Corvette. Hope this helps.
