Wiring Help Needed
As I'm driving, the cluster will intermittently blank out then come back on 2-3min later. It goes thru its power-up sequence as if the key were turned off and back on. BTW: when the cluster is dark, the main odometer continues to operate and record mileage; everything else blanks out.
I talked with Bryan at batee.com and he said there have been issues between in the 12-pin connector between the circuit boards. The cluster was serviced some time before I bought the car as it has the tamper stickers on the back cover of the cluster. So, I pulled and disassembled the cluster and resoldered the pins and sockets on the boards.
The issue came back and I'm sitting here searching the service manual component location section (8a-201) and I can't find either splice S213 or ground point G201 listed in the book.

S213 should be maybe in the '86 FSM on 201 FIG-10A I got that info from an '86FSM but here's a thread with the same reference information. a search for S213 should work if you do it in the C4 "sub-forum".

I would think Bryan might even have a reference to it.

I'm seeing S214 and S214 in addition to S203 but I'm not seeing S213. Could my copy of the FSM have S203 mismarked? My copy is showing it just above the C100 connector and it looks like there are multiple wires coming into the harness there.

Here's an '86 image and also a '87 image. My '86 FSM is a pdf and using a search for S218 I see no other reference to an S218 in the FSM. Draw your own conclusions

I'm going to pull the lower panel and trace the harness or just run a new ground wire.

BTW any idea what the ambient temp override switch is that's listed in the sensor ground circuit from terminal D3?
