I plan to have my Transmission Fluid and Filter changed on my 700R4 soon. This is a GM Factory Refurbished Unit with about 20,000 miles. While the pan is off, is there anything I can do without going in or removing the transmission to firm up the shifts? I'm not having any problems to speak of, but my limited understanding is that firmer shifts will benefit the life of the transmission. The engine is a 383 Stroker with an estimated 425 h.p. and 450 ft. lbs. torque, and I have a YANK SS3200 Converter. Thanks!
If this is a GM SRTA unit and the 36 mo / 50K warranty is in effect I wouldn't do anything other than a fluid change. The stall converter could be a warranty issue but a shift kit would for sure end warranty. Out of warranty shift kit is not a bad idea. Only the valve body is modified and the transmission stays in the car.

I actually think that the warranty is for 5 years or 100,000 miles. You've made and excellent point in regard to voiding the warranty, so I think I'll just have the service performed. Thanks for the advice.
TransGo has some good stuff. I have used there 1-2 and 2-3 shift kits work great. Give them a call they can give U what U want.
Thanks! I'll have to give them a call to see what they say. I don't want to void my warranty, but if some sort of shift kit will allow my transmission to live longer with the h.p. and torque I have, it may be the way to go. I'm concerned that if I don't do something to the transmission now, then premature failure is in my future.
