93 LT1 timing chain / ecm coversion. Plz read
I have a 93 lt1, and i need to upgrade the timing chain. Does anyone know of any companies that make a roller gear set for 93?? If not, here are my questions. If i use a mezziere pump will the timing gear set work with my chain cover/ opti ???? i heard that the waterpump drive gear is the biggest problem.
my other option is to conver to a 95 setup complete.... opti, chain cover, keep the stock water pump, and convert to a 95 wiring harness granatelli maf as well, for tunjng purposes as i hear it is easier. Anyone here know if everything is compatible for the 95 harness on my 93 ???
anyone done this?? what works to get an lt4 timing set on my 93?? Help!!

doesnt anyone know?? heres what i think will work. 96 LT4 roller chain with a mezziere pump. But im not sure if my stock opti will work liek this. if i upgrade to 95 style, i hear the connection is different for the opti. HELP!! :cry

I know that the opti changed in 95. The early opti connection is different from the 95. You can change it but you have to change the connection on the cam and the timing cover also. The newer opti is also half the price of the old one. 200.00 vs. 400.00 :cheers:

There is a post going on this topic in the performance section. According to Nathan, and he does seem to know a lot about this topic, you will need the new cover, new opti spark, and I believe a new style cam to use a double roller chain. Hopefully he will chime in on this and tell you.
