Original somewhere around 70,000 to 130,000. Or sooner if you loose a water pump and it dumps coolant onto the Opti. Or if you decide to pressure wash your engine....it will be gone. After market Opti are all over from lasting a long time to days or weeks after install.

You've got the later style vented Opti, which is a little more reliable. I think the max I've heard of is something more than 200,000 miles.

My 95 had a heater hose dump on the opti. I took it apart, cleaned everything and replaced the cap. Just recently I replaced the optical disc but I still have the original optical sensor. I have right at 135,000 miles On her.

My LT1/LT4 cars with Optispark:

'96 45k Corvette (current)
'95 45k Corvette (current)
'96 115k Caprice (current) (water pump failed)

'94 145k Corvette (sold in '11)
'94 35k Corvette (sold in '95)
'95 54k Z28 (sold in '01) (water pump failed)
'96 115k Impala SS (sold in '03)
'95 140k Caprice 9C1 (stolen in '05)

All of these were original and I never had any problems with them even with water pump failures leaking on them.

Good luck.

My 95 Impala ss had well over 150000 miles on its opti when it was totaled ..I drove it onto the roll back for its trip to the wrecking yard (I miss that car)
