My '93 has headers and the wires for cylinders #6 and #8 are straight boots. The rest are 90 degree boots. How the wires will be routed would make a difference in what you order. Taylor and MSD have LT1 sets that have two straight ends and six with 90 degree boots. They also have sets with all 90 degree boots.
FWIW, I don't have any heat protectors on the wires and there is no sign of discoloration or burning on the wires.. But keeping the wires away from the tubes is important. The OEM wire bracks work for the most part, but I did use some wire ties to make sure the plug wires were kept away from the header tubes.
I,ll check if taylor makes a kit with 90" boots for all 8 cylinders.
Do yourself a favor and buy the kits that you cut and crimp the ends on. From my experience the lt1 kits the wires are either 2" too long or a 1" to short.
Especially with headers the wires sometimes need to be routed different than oem.
With the kit you make you can get every wire exactly how you want it and the overall appearance will be much better as well as the fit and finish.
Been running the same set of Taylor Spiro Pro 8mm wires on my 94 for 10+ years without issue. I have Exotic Muscle long tubes and using the Taylor LT1 set with the two straight boots for #7/8. Also ran this set with Hooker shorties.
