Do you have to remove the windshield wiper motor to pull the motor out?
The tranny is being removed first.
But.....the torque converter will still be attached to the flex plate because the engine cant rotate.
Thanks
I've never pulled the wiper out, but I only usually have the flywheel left. If you can't get the converter off your going to have to tip the motor a lot. I would pull the balancer off for some extra clearance. Maybe once you get the trans out you could get to the 3 bolts for the converter.
Thanks for the info.
I didnt want to get into the wiper motor with the engine hanging.
I am also going to pull the intake and senders at the rear of the intake for more room.

Why won't the engine rotate ? Did you break a rod or something ? Just curious. If you blew a head gasket and hydrolocked the motor, you could pull the plugs and get it to go.
The engine is totally destroyed.
Rods and pistons and broken metal everywhere in the pan.
I can see it from the holes in the pan.
Pieces of oil rings hanging out of 1 hole.

here are some pictures of the device being used and such. could make it easier for you to control while having to tip and manipulate it to get it up and out of there.
here's wishing you success. the last motor I put in was a big block mopar when I was younger. put it into a Roadrunner, but those cars had lots of room and I put it in with the trans attached.
..... There is a lot of oil in that converter that will lubricate your floor when you tip the front of the engine up ... FYI , I've pulled the engine with the trans attached without bothering with the wiper motor .....

a couple quarts of ATF will go a long way on a concrete driveway

a trick that was used in a machine shop I worked in long ago was kerosene and oil dry. spray the oil/atf soaked area down with kerosene and cover with oil dry. it will suck all the oil up out of the concrete and leave it clean and bright. we would have cutting oil all over the floor and would clean it every night before going home so that the floors never accumulated a thick coating to get slippery.
To answer the original question, you don't have to remove the wiper motor. Some people will remove the electrical cover to keep it from getting damaged in the process.

A couple of disposable gloves zip tied around the converter hole will prevent oil from spilling out. Good luck!
