I'm still driving this stupid 96 Z28 until my baby gets back from the doctor. :(
Recently (about 3000 miles ago) I had the transmission completely rebuilt and the clutch replaced. The car was driving ok until yesterday morning, I can't shift into any gears. When the car is off I can get into all the gears, except reverse needs two hands and a lot of pressure to get to. With the car started in neutral I can't get any gears at all. With the car started in gear I can shift and drive it but all the gears are super notchy.
The hydraulic fluid level is fine and looks pretty clean.

The flatbed just got here :mad The mechanic said it sounds like the hyrdaulic system isn't working right  Guess I'll be staying in San Jose for a while :cuss Damn, I thought two cars would be plenty :nopity
go to the f-body forum, im sure ull find the answer. My brothers camaro ss had the same problem, so did a friends 96 z28. it seems the centerforce clutch has soem issues for them with clearances. I also read in gm-hightech performance magazine that it was the pressure bleeder thingy below the tranny - it had air in it which didnt allow the clutch to fully disengage. i have the magazine here somwhere.........
Say what you will about Ford, but my dad's 140k mile 95 F-150 has carried me around quite a bit when my GM has been FUBAR, meanwhile it just keeps on running. I've heard you can't blow up a Ford 300 cu. in. inline 6-cyl. I wanna find out someday :smash:

Sounds to me like a simple clutch adjustment or you need to bleed the clutch slave cylinder. I've driven manual tranny's all my life and when the clutch isn't disingageing all the way you can still drive the car if you start it in neutral. It's just hard to get the tranny into any gear while shifting unless you match the RPM's to the gear. :yesnod:
I just got the call from the shop, the Z is fixed. My mechanic pulled the tranny and found that the clutch fork was bent. :smash: He replaced it and now it's good to go. :chevy The good part about this deal is No Charge :yesnod:
