Default 1990 Engine Work/replacing head gaskets

I am currently in the process of replacing a blown head gasket on a 1990 C4 with +/- 150,000 miles.

1. I am going to send the heads out to have milled, etc. Does anyone know of a good machine shop in the north Houston, TX/Conroe area that works on aluminum heads?

2. Since I have the engine torn down to this level, what else should I consider doing? New valve springs? Pushrods? Lifters? Etc.?

3. This seems like an ideal time to pull off the air pump and related hardware. I live in Texas and I don't believe its required. It would sure clear out a lot of "junk" and make the engine easier to work on. Pros and Cons?

4. Other than cleaning out carbon deposits and such, what else should I do while I have the top of the engine apart?

Thank you much!!
