Default HELP! TKO Issues. Super Stiff.

Hello,
I just bought a new toy and was told it was upgraded with a TKO 5-speed. I've since dug in and it looks like it was a Keisler Perfect Fit TKO. I'm not sure if it's a 500 or 600. Any sure fire way to tell?

Also, the shifter is ridiculously stiff from side to side, my wife can't even move the shifter. Any thoughts here? I've taken off the shifter and the shifter itself seems to be fine, smooth, with not too much tension. I took off the rear plate and I'm not seeing anything that seems out of place. I'll add some photos and a video. Anyone ever deal with one of these before?

I can't help (unfortunately) but have a thought on your model. When I got my 86 it already had a Tremec tranny in place. When it was on a lift, I got under there and took pictures and wrote down every number I could find. I sent that info to Tremec and they sent me back of info on the tranny including model, date of manufacture, etc. They also sent me a pdf of the owners manual including maintenance info on it.

Not going to swear to it but I think if you have a 5 speed (based on the shifter ****) it's either a 500 or 3550 transmission. Happens mine is a TR3550 and it's a 5 speed built in 2008.

OP - you asked nearly all of these same questions using a different "user ID" earlier this month. There was enough info there to ID it as to if it's a 500 or a 600.

If it went from a "box directly to the car" I'd think there's likely a tag on the tail-housing to main case bolt.

Some potential tag information and there's information out there that ID's others.

I'm sorry, but was doe OP mean? And thank you for the response. If I can only figure out why I'm having such a problem with the shifter now.

Old Post!!! Got it! Sorry guys, I thought I'd registered for another Corvette forum and guess I just registered here twice. Never got notifications on that one, like I did with this UN. Thanks again for the help thus far. :-)
