Recently the passive lock/unlock has not been working well. I got a new battery for the key fob, but it still is not working like it use to. It seems to unlock if I hold the key over the back glass, sometimes. What is the problem and where are the sensores? It just started doing this and is a real pain. I walk away leaving my car open half the time!
The sensors run along the side of the car, and by the hatch, if you have a coupe. To properly diagnose your problem, you need to access any trouble codes that may be stored.
Try reprogramming the key xmitter to the car. Check owner manual for procedure. My 'vert seems to get lazy about passive entry mainly when top is down. New key chain battery here, too.
Try squeezing the two halves of the key fob together. The battery doesn't make great contact and squeezing overcomes this. Obviously not one of GM's greater designs :(

Wrong....The are two sensors on the coupe. One is in the drivers door and the other is at the rear bumper. Nothing on the passenger side so don't try it there. Might just be the buttons on the fob are wearing out. Try reprogramming and see what happens. Else, try a known good fob and see if the problem persists. If you ever need a new one, then call Jeff Kopp. He has them for $94....I just got one a month ago....
