Fuel lines/Fuel rail question...

I posted this as a follow up, but thought I might post in the general discussion as well. My question is...on an '86...Does the fuel rail have to be off to reconnect the fuel lines, or can it be done with the fuel rail bolted down? Thanks!

I have always done it with the fuel rails bolted down. I think it's easier to line up the connections.

Did you have to move anything out of the way? Did you have to put any stress on the lines to get them to line-up properly? Thank you...
