Default six speed trans rebuild

I have a 95 with a black tag transmission in it and the syncro's are going away. I am getting close to building a stroker engine for it, and while I have it out I need to get this taken care of. Can anyone suggest a shop in my area that can do a good job on it. Somewhere in Texas/Louisiana area, Thanks, Tom

I don't know that poster #2 has any "experience" with his suggested or NOT but it's certainly the most often reference to the build/repair etc of the ZF.

There are other options for sure. Given that you've asked about "closer to home" I believe you contact this fellow regarding a ZF build. He may NOT do it but he's certainly likely to be able to refer you to someone "closer" to home IF there is one.

All parts in the US I believe still have to be done through these guys. Years ago (many, many) I had some pleasant experiences with these guys. I did many transmissions, transfer cases and parts for manual builds. A personal experience for a ZF build though I have none.

You can also go threw rockland standard gear, minimum price is $1500. I usually source my parts from rockland whenever I am rebuilding/freshing a zf6.
