Default Correct hatch nuts for a 95

I've been looking and I'm kind of confused. It looks as if the c4 hatch has changed over the years, so I'm having a hard time verifying what I need.

I'm trying to order new hatch nuts for my '95. They've become rusty underneath and are starting to come off. I'm not too sure if the center nuts are the same as the ones on the side for the lift struts but I'd rather replace all 4, and buff the glass while I'm at it. Any guidance?

If you're going to that effort you want also the screw/bolt and the spacer/grommet/gasket used. I don't believe there were changes through the years. The nuts at the strut are of course different than those at the striker. I'd go to a dealer and see what 'might' still be available and get part numbers for all. When you're checking resellers they'll generally reference their material to the OEM. The dealer I doubt would mind sharing.

This 'hints' that they're not all available any longer but a local dealer may certainly still have or be able to maybe locate. It's good to have a 'relationship' with a local dealer.

for the hatch hinge, locating this hardware is going to be tough one. from what I can find, the P/N for the retaining "bolt" (yes it is a bolt) is 14049008. I have yet to find a source for new, or NOS. it appears, there is also a spacer, a washer, along with the bolt. quantity depends on the hatch configuration - i'm guessing 3 or 4 each required. the spacer and washer (p/n 14949007) may be easily substituted, but the retaining bolt may be a different story. this is a case where used may be the only route. I suggest doing a search on NOS 14049008. part of the problem is the hardware "kit" was part of the replacement glass assembly. WVZ-1's attachment illustration clearly shows the configuration. good luck on this one!

The 14049008 is actually a bolt that secures the glass to the hinge at the halo and there's also adhesive involved.

OP mentioned 4 specifically and that I thought 'hinted' that he was interested in only 'pretty hardware' for the strut and striker attachment!

I'm referring to the caps and related hardware that sit on the outside of the hatch glass, near the back. Two are for the lift struts, two for the latch. The metal beneath the caps has rusted, so the caps are coming loose on the outside.

I'm quite sure I understood and I don't see a reason to deviate from what I suggested. These are C4 application only so anyone parting any year could maybe offer up quality used.

Take a look at the C4 parts fs section, there are a couple cars being parted out. They may have what you are looking for.

I was responding to Joe and just offering clarification.

I found new seals and latch nuts. Still hunting for the lift strut nuts. If I keep drawing a blank I'll suck it up and get those used ones.
