Default Headers type sound...

Man, I love it when I can use the word "header" in my posts! Those posts just always catch fire...

But it does apply here. It's what it sounds like...

Okay, so I've done a lot of stuff to my '86 recently, including stuff where I had to mess with the EGR pipe. Yes, I had to mess with that "Oitiker" clamp too, unfortunately.

When I first start the car up, I get a very short "header" like sound. It goes away almost immediately. I am thinking it's coming from the EGR pipe. It has only the slightest amount of play in it. On there tighter than it was before I put it back on, but it didn't have that "header" like sound before...any thoughts?

Thanks!

Probably expanding a little on warm up so the sound goes away sounds like you know the fix

My 1 ton never had exh gaskets from the factory did the same thing would tick for a minute then get quiet

I'll see if I can get it on any tighter. It's on tighter than it was before, but stranger fixes have worked.

Thanks...
