possible air pump noise
when I start my 1995 vette, there is a horrible grinding noise that seems to be coming from the left front underhood. It only lasts about half a sec. then is never heard again till car sits a few days and i restart. Someone suggested it may be the air pump. Does this sound right? Also, if it is the air pump, or to determine if it is , can the air pump electrical connection be unpluged without causing the check engine light to come on? This car only has about 50k, so hard to believe pump is bad, but im curious if anyone else has experienced a noise of this type
