Somebody wired it to come on all the time, most likely. Trace the wiring.

It might be caused by the main fan relay grounding out itself. New relays are dirt cheap...maybe $10 at Pepboys. You can disconnect the relay to see if stops the fan. That fan can also be started by the a/c press. switch. The relay should be attached at the rear of the drivers side wheel well.

Not sure if yours has twin cooling fans or not. If I start my 91 with the AC on the aux fan kicks in. In summer traffic I use it to cool the engine when the main isn't quite enough.

Hmmm....sounds like my problem! It ain't the relays, the fans don't start until the car starts running (key on...nothing, key-on, start... fans on). Mine is a '92 though. I'm going to try to put a Diacom on and see what there is to see... I'll let you know.

Unplug the A/C pressure sw and see if the sw is open; this condition will bring on the main fan.
If this is the problem, a temp fix is to jumper the two contacts in the connector plug.
