Is there any way to look at the sequence number on the vin to figure out what part of the year the car was produced? I have a 86 that needs another roof panel and a couple of buddies heading to carlisle that were going to look for one for me, but i guess they changed the mounts on them mid or late 86. My car is about a hour away, so i cant just go look and see what kind of mounts i have. Any help would be greatly appreciated. scott

Just checked it out thanks. i see the production numbers start at 100001, mine is 122900, would that mean mine was early or mid production?

You can't rely upon the VIN for identification.

here's very good images of the hardware types and there's likely 50+ websites that offer similar!!
