I'm going to order one but thought I would ask if anyone knows anything about this pump....they recommend a 160 thermostat (Robershaw),
presently I'm using a 160 from Mr. Gasket.
Don't know what pressure radiator cap they recommend...
I have one on my 88. I will be taking the underdrive pulleys off because I think it is affecting the waterpump speed and allowing the car to run a tad on the warm side. Either that, or it's just too darn hot here! :yesnod:
I've had Flowkooler on the 84 CF for three years now with no problems. I have the March underdrive pulleys, 160 stat, fan switch that turns on at 200 degrees and shuts off at 190 degrees in the summer. My pulleys don't affect the water pump speed because there the two piece set i.e. crank and alternator. Stock radiator cap was retained. The only problem I encountered is running in the winter, the temp never gets over 170 degrees, when the ambient temperature drops below 30 degrees. 84 CF 91 ZR-1 :chevy
My vette is an auto. '84....was using the march 2 pulley system but had to take it off due to voltage at idle dropping to 11.5 volts (in the red)...even after putting a 140 amp altenator on.
Any ideas????on how to put the march system back on...even ran with the stock altenator pulley....little bit of help but not enough....

Thats funny my alternator reads 14.2 volts at 600 rpm with the March pulleys and it's the original stock alternator. Drops to 14 volts w/air on at idle in gear. The only problem I encountered was finding the right size belt, three or four trail and error trips to the parts store. Come to think of it, would not the smaller diameter pulley turn more rpm than the larger diameter ? 84 CF 91 ZR-1
Is your '84 an automatic.....if so so is mine....but I still have problems...now put on a new altnator pulley from march 1"11/16......working ok...but the belt is still to large....which one did you use ??????

But that is what happened to me...now I put a new march altenator pulley p/n 112 (1"11/16)....BUT THE BELT THAT MARCH TOLD ME TO GET WAS TO LONG....was a 2 pulley system but I bought the extra water pump pulley...
had to take it off to make the new belt to fit....
What belt did you say you used???

The Gates belt #K060840 works with the two pulley system i.e. crank pulley and alternator pulley. I did not change the water pump pulley, left it stock. 84 CF 91 ZR-1
