I have a 1995 that will not start. Turns over but won't start. I wondered if the gas could be wrong so I took the cap off to check and fuel gushed up and out! Help!!

What do you mean Gas shot up at you when you removed the Cap, do you mean to say it hissed at you and released pressure Kind of normal.
Now the Basic's do you have Fuel pressure?
Do you have Spark?
Do you have Injector Pulse? can be tested by Noid Light or Digital Volt Meter
Start with checking your fuel pump (is it working?) then the filter, but first save yourself some hassle and put a gauge on the fuel rail. If you are getting pressure there, you are good.
If your filter is (mostly) clogged your pump will push and build pressure with nowhere to go, hence the bubble up.

Is it possible that the filler neck cavity got filled up with water (during rain or washing) and the water got sucked into the tank...? Can't imagine how it could get overfilled like that. Crazy.
