This afternoon I pulled cover off Ruby. Did not start all winter no did I have the battery tender on. Battery was dead and put charger on. Tried headlights to see if cables were working ok, but when I turned the lamps off rotated butthe left side continued to click several times tha would stop. Put it on boost but would not start and clicked whiletrying to engage the ignition. Will give it a half hour and try starting it again. Not sure if gears are becoming worn or maybe a bad relay stuck.
Any ideas?

Odds are you headlight Bushings are worn out, Let me Guess there is a pile of white dust under headlight
Just went out and started the car and removed charger. It is midnight so did not check for residue as it was dark. But will check. If gears needed will go with the brass ones over the plastic probably.
I did see under another posting while doin more research about the plastic bushings or plastic pucks that see to be the problem moreso than the gear. They listed a Dorman number for the and to use a grease that is high temp like what is used on brake calipers. Got to look up that post again for that dormain number. Not sure how old the post was, said they were $7.50.

That sounds about rite the set I for my car are still available, I took it all apart expecting the worst because my lights just rocked and forth with the motors running and all it was is the pucks went to dust. https://corvetteparts.com/item/dowel...pair-1988-1996
There is a thin Gasket but I just reused it on the 1 side the other side was killed so I used a Ultra Thin bead of RTV in the missing Places There is nothing really not to much to Seal in or Seal out.
I bought the plastic pieces to replace the shock absorbers plugs in the passenger headlight in my 1996. Bought them at AutoZone, they were a Dorman product in a blister pack and inexpensive. I used the same parts for the electric motors for the power windows in another car.
Forget the brass gears. Correct on Dorman Power Window part. I did the driver's side and not 2 days later the other one clicked. They both snap around great. Did generously lube the worm gears with plastic grease, and the Dorman part is a perfect fit. They are shock absorbers.
