Default Antenna problem 84-92

My antenna motor works but the antenna doesnt move at all
I just removed the whole unit to replace it with a new one but it
turned out to be to many $$$ to get a new :cry

Any one who knows if there would be a chance to just replace antenna parts mast, ribbon etc, ??

you need to replace the mast... however, if the ribbon broke in a bad place, you may have to take it out and remove the broken ribbon.

The ribbon is the piece of nylon that pushes and pulls the mast up and down. it is inside the mast and has teeth on one side.

I got one about a year ago, and they are about 15.00...

contact Jeff Kopp at Superior Chevy... tell him you are a forum member and that I sent ya! Jeff is the greatest guy on earth!!!!!!

Thanks bogus!!

Just opened the whole unit up, there is no ribbon in there,!!??
maybe thats the 1/4 inch of thin plastic, sticking out from the bottom of
the mast.
there is some kind of flywheel in there guess thats whats gonna pull that ribbon thing.
The question is if I could just by the mast with the
"ribbon thing" and that wheel.
Cant figure how to the ribbon is gonna stuck to that wheel
