Default TPS sensor

I tested the tps sensor on my 87
and it was fine up till full throttle then
it showed an open loop, should this happen?

The sensor should start at .54 and go up tp 4. something no open loops. My old bad one would set at .54 but as I tightened it I could see the voltage jumping. Case was bas or insides were bad. New tps and it sets at .54 and goes smoothly up to 4. something even when I tighten it. Also my car was throwing a code for tps out of range or too high or too low I forget it was a few years ago.
I would say it is bad but clean the connector first.
Good Luck

Hi
A multimeter will change from 0.54vdc to around 4 volts, should show a quick transition, the top two wires is what I set my TPS with.
See below some diagrams from my 85 shop manual, the 87 should be the same except for ECM connector pin numbers.

May just need a new TPS
