Default What cam should i get?

Hello,

I am putting in a engine into my 1990 Corvette as the motor is currently seized. The Engine I will be using is a freshly rebuilt l98 350 5.7 tpi engine from a fbody with the stock iron heads. I will be using Edelbrock 60859 heads and either 1.5 or 1.6 Roller rockers, for the Intake manifold I will be using TPIS 1204 Miniram along with 26lb injectors and 58mm Throttle body. The 1990 Corvette Is an automatic with 3:73 gears and a shift kit with a stock converter. I have a 2400 B&M converter which i will be using depending on your recommendation of cam. So My question is I am not sure which Cam i should be using. This car is not my daily driver and there is no emmisions where I live.

Questions;

What Cam would you guys recommend? Has to be tunable for speed density and sized right for the edlebrock 60859

I had in mind Compcams 280XFI

Parts that I have in my possesion;

1. L98 engine
2. TPIS 1204 Miniram/Accel 26lb injectors/58mm TB
3. Edelbrock 60859 heads
4. 2 sets of 1.5 Roller rockers (Scoropion and crane cam) and 1 set of 1.6 Roller rockers (cranes cam Gold)
5. 2400rpm b&M torque converter
6. Stock headers with stright dual exhaust no cats

Need;

1. Pushrods
2. Camshaft
3. Tune

I think that is a fine choice for the cam for a 383.

I'd go with 30lb injector. XFI280 is a nice cam but think the XFI268 would be a better match for a 350. Stock headers will be a bottleneck also.

I am running allens true dual exhaust 2.5 with no cats, even with the stock manifolds i dont think i have any flow issues. Any recommendations on a good mailorder tuner?

I think you should really try to find a local tuner to get a WB02 on it and tune for WOT, pick the injectors based on his recommendation based on the camshaft you pick out.

But I have used Ed Wright/Fastchip.com in the past.

Stock manifolds will be a restriction. I didn't notice that you were using a 350, but 280 will be a bit big for that and I might go a little smaller, between 220-225 intake and 220-230 exhaust @050".
