Default Fuel Pressure on cold start
What would cause no fuel pressure when cold engine is initially attempted to start?

Couple of things...

What year and engine are we dealing with?
Where are you measuring "no fuel pressure" on the engine?

Could be fuel pump failure (and associated problems) or clogged fuel filter.

Please post more info

You need to determine if the ECM is sending a signal to the fuel pump relay. It should send a signal for 2 seconds when the key is turned on. That pressurizes the fuel rails for starting.

Are there any C4's with mechanical fuel pumps or all electric in gastank ?

All of them are electric and in the fuel tank.
