Default catalytic converters

I have a 93 corvette with dual exhaust, will it hurt if i gut one of the two cats and not the other. My mechanic hammered on the pipe to get it off and knocked the honeycomb loose. It sounded like tin cans rattling when i cranked it up. took me 3 weeks to find it. los 49

Probably wont hurt, but you might have a good opportunity to buy some quality high flow cats for both sides at possibly a lower cost than what one factory might cost you. Either way, I would make your mechanic pay for it.

If the mechanic was the one who ruined the cat by beating on it, then he should pay for a replacement and installation. Why did it need to come off?
