Default C-4 (85) whine

My car has a whine that appears to be from the differential. It started about 2-3 weeks ago and only on deceleration now it is on acceleration. It is also getting worse- any ideas?

Welcome to the forum.....DO NOT change your rear end until you check it out a little. Get a FSM if you don't already have one. My 85 always had a little whine on deceleration, more so in drive, not overdrive....I know I have fluid so never thought much about it....get an oil change and have them check it or change it( your rear end grease)....a lot cheaper than a whole rear end...of course, if you're fabulously wealthy, disregard this post.....
