I encountered a problem with my 91's antenna last night.
Basically it will not retract, I can push it in by hand and it comes up when you turn the radio on.
However it will not go down after I shut the radio off.
Is that little ribbon thingie broken or am I looking at buying the entire unit because something else is bad?

Re: Antenna Problems (RedZR)
More than likely it's the ribbon. I replaced mine as well as my friends, and it was pretty simple. Mine all I had to do was replace the ribon and mast. On his I had to actually remove the antanna unit and unscrew it to remove the rest of the ribbon inside it.
You should be able to go to a local dealership and have the mast kit ordered (I can get the part number for you) it cost around 24 bucks. It includes a tool for removal of the nut that holds the antanna in place. The kit will have instructions as well.
They have the directions on the http://www.madirect.com site. Its easy and quick. I found it easier to remove the entire assembly on my vert. I've heard this is harder to do on coupes requiring the fender well to be partially removed though.
