Clutch Release Bearing
The previous owner replaced the clutch with a LuK kit 18 months ago, and I've covered around 10k miles since. I went to drive it today and with the clutch pedal depressed, there's a whinning/grumbling sound. To me this suggests the throw out bearing has failed? It happens with the pedal all the way depressed, I can soften the noise if I raise it a little. Reading online it sounds like the quality of the new bearings in the kits is not up to that of the originals. Is there a source for a quality bearing? And given that I'm going to have to pay a garage to do the work, would you replace the clutch, even though it only has around 10k on it. I see Rock Auto sell an AC Delco one separately.
I've got a space booked at a car show tomorrow, will I do any damage taking my car there? I have a daily shed otherwise.
FWIW I'm in the UK and have only ever driven manual cars, so I would like to rule out my technique!
Thanks in advance.
