Default 96-removing pass side seat switch

posting for a neighbor, quickest way to go about this?
(car isnt here cant see it)

Friend of his is saying seats gotta come out, thought there were screws inside the console lid where that can all come out?

The drivers switch is permanently attached to the wiring going to the seats if I remember correctly. I think the passenger side is the same and thats the only reason you would need to remove the seat. You'll be able to tell when you remove the console to get at the switch.

nice...so is he better off finding a switch (where?) cutting into the harness? Sure dont miss working on these I can tell you that

The seat comes out pretty quick. The wiring passes up under the carpet to the console and there's not a lot of slack where it gets to the switch. When I changed the switch out on my 96, I could not believe they did not put a connector there. Its all fairly tight up under the console, so if I was going to splice it in it would be in the part going down the side of the trans tunnel. At that point, you've got the seat removed to get the side of the console off though.
