If I understand you correctly, there are two bolts and one stud for the lower bracket. They are at different lenght. If I am right let me know, I'll take it out and measure it for you.
Yeah there are 3 bolts in total on the power steering bracket. I have the two upper ones. I don't have the very bottom on that goes down by where the timing chain cover and oilpan meet. :) Thanks!
That would be the stud, the stud part (a nut welded to that part) hold the power steering pump and the top of the stud hold the air pump with another nut. Its about the same length as the longer bolt for the S/P. It has to be somewhere looks for it. That will be a hassle if you use a regular stud.
I can't take that out now to let you know, too many thing to take off:(
Re: Need power steering bracket bolt specs. (scorp508)
According to the GM parts book it is 3/8 x 16 x 1.38 with a GM part number of 9439918. The dealer can tell you if it is still available and in what quantity they are packaged.
Hope this helps
It took me a while to figured it out when I put the engine back too. The bracket for the air pump would not fit in there until the stud is intalled to hold the P/S pump. The stud look like (shape wise)one of those exhaust manifold stud bolt that hold the exhaust manifold and the A/C bracket...
Re: Need power steering bracket bolt specs. (scorp508)
Scorp. Just pulled the lowest bolt (correct one?) out of my PS bracket (to the block). Its 9/16" head, and is 1-3/8" long. I dont have a way to measure threads. but its the same as the upper ones.

Almost everything that bolts to a small block motor is a 3/8 16. I always make sure to have a multitude of that size available in different lengths at all times. No need to overpay at the dealer... that bolt is available everywhere in the known universe.
Just got off the phone with Aqua, he gave me the correction to post so he doesn't look like a dope, but, it's too late! He just wanted to save face with you Scorp, so he didn't mislead you too badly. He said he musta been hittin' the pipe last night, that's the reason for his numb brain. :seeya
