Hi to all. Have a 92 LT-1. Problem is I cannot open the hood. I pull on the release but only the passenger side is "popping" open. Does anyone have a remedy? Please help.
If the cable is stretched and needs replacment. You may need to get under the hush pad with a pair of vise grips and grab hold of the cable. Did you try having someone hold open the release while you press down on the corner of the hood?
Very recently, a member had the same problem, and solved it by removing the tire and accessing the latch mechanism from below.
Or, you can fashion a rigid wire, or rod, with a right angle end, and try to release the latch from the top.
This has happenned to me twice. I went through the fender well both times. They also make a tool specifically for this sold in most aftermarket catalogs.
Try pressing down on the hood near the latches when you pull the release. Also try moving the car to another parking spot. Sometimes the frame flexes enough that friction will stop the latches from releasing. By moving and pressing, you release the friction and it should open. Worked for me a couple of times a few years ago and I haven't had problems since. :yesnod:

Re: HELP my hood won't open! (92TripleBlack)
You may be able to pull the cable more from inside the car, if you remove a trim piece, and the latch handle. I was able to slide out the pin that holds it to the cable. From here, just yank! It won't help your cable stretching problems though.
