Default high RPM stutter....HELP!!!!

Last night, the car was up to temps and I was getting on it hard and the the tach was jumping erratically when the engine was around 4500-5300, but ran fine at lower engine speeds under WOT. Also, I could feel the motor stutter. Later that night the car was cooler and I was pulling the motor to redline gradually and no problems. Any thoughts??? Thanks a million in advance.
Cheers,
Robert

Sounds like mine. The dreaded opti. :smash:

You can try plugs, wires, coil, etc. but the erratic rpms while warm and high rpm is pretty typical. Karnac the magnificent says "Next you will start noticing idle rpms jumping up."

Actually, the job isn't bad. You can get a new opti from Jeff Kopp for about $330.

In the current Vette Fever is an article to add a vent system.

I just went through the same thing, but I changed the opti first and still had a miss. I changed the wires and it solved my problem. I'm not saying for sure that it will fix it, but it is a cheaper alternative than an opti. :yesnod:

Well, the opti is said to be new, but who knows for sure. I can say the wires are new and the plugs are new. I wouldn't mind putting a new coil and module in the car for a little insurance. I really appreciate the help more than you could imagine. If the problem persists I will keep posted.
Another note, is that I have been using for short trips and I think it may not be long enough to boil the condensation away. I have been trying to let the car get as hot as possible to aid the situation. Any thoughts here?
Thanks a mil,
Robert

BTW- are those CCW's? If so, Got 'em on my ride too!
