Definitely not as high as other C4s on the column (Will, Jim, etc.) but the car was deadly consistent last night at Sonoma Raceway. Consistent enough to win Comp rod. Under warm and windy conditions, the car was running 10.40s right on it's predicted dialins.
How do you compare the miniram to the Superam you formerly ran? If I am not mistaken on an intake change.
I know both perform well, but curious on your thoughts.
At the track, the mini tram was worth approximately 2 tenths over the SuperRam. I installed the mini after the car became a dedicated track car so I can't comment on how it performs in the street. The Superram was great

Wow.....interesting..... 2 tenths is somewhat significant in my world....
I thought I remember your swap some time ago and always wondered how it compared on the track in relation to the Superram; don't know many that have made that swap; I went from the Edelbrock hi flow base and runners to the miniram and picked up 4-5mph and 4 tenths on my mild build 355.
But back to your post, I agree your car is a very interesting to see; looks as good as it runs and I am just as interested in the fact your are the original owner of that 84 if I remember correctly; a great story!
Can't help but follow your threads; consistent, dialed in C4!
Thanks again all. Yes, I have been wrenching on this 84 since new 33 years ago. There is not much original left on the car, and I have turned pretty much every bolt and nut on the thing. I've gone from the x-fire, added nitrous, carburator, 383 with SuperRam, 406 with SuperRam and now miniram. Tranny has gone from a 4+3 to a 700r4 to a 4l60e. Its been a fun ride and I am fortunate to be able to race and enjoy the car pretty much every week. I've put a lot into the car but it has given me a lot back. Nothing like seeing the win light at the end of the quarter! You guys on the forum have all been great and it's wonderful how we all try to help one another keeping our C4 dreams alive. Willie
I was just noticing everyone on this thread. We have all been on here a long time. That's pretty cool
Nice; I guess my take from that is; if you own a C4 for a while and put some significant funds into it; either in maintenance, modifications, etc. It is better to hold on to them and enjoy rather than give them away. Thus, a few have held on to these cars for a while.

Even though my membership shows fairly recent, "AFS Racing" was on CF from the early years.
I just can't bear to part with my '87 (big cube, blower, N20, ZF, vert). I did give my '88 to my eldest son, and he has done so much to turn that car into a really solid machine. I am impressed!
I have had several C6s (still own my built TT) and just recently finalized a deal on a new C7Z. But my '87 still holds a special place in my heart and will continue to have a reserved space in the garage.
Cheers to everyone who continue to carry the C4 torch forward...

...It's ^this^. This is really what it's all about...some of the best material ever written on this forum. ^That right there, is the epitome of a great relationship w/a vehicle. Almost brought a tear to my eye to read that. I don't think car ownership can get much better than your situation. I dig it. Thanks for posting!

great story thanks for sharing.
c4's were the cars i dreamed about as a kid - also paralleled a great time in our country's history

perhaps its because we are seasoned owners and are beyond the very simple and oft repeated questions( to us) and something new perks our interest. OR, could be we are old farts and been in the hobby just a bit longer...OR, we have found a nice way to get alone time from the wife and kids, lol. Interesting what you said about the Elderbrock hi flow runners and manifold. I have the set laying around out in the garage and been getting an urge to install them.

Some of us still race these cars. My 92 went from road race to drag race.
