Default 1984 Theft Deterrant System

This forum has been a great place to ask questions and get answers and as a new owner of an old Corvette (1984) I am grateful for all the help.

I noticed the 10amp fuse was blown that works my horn and interior lights so I replaced it with one that lights up when it blows. After I installed the fuse the horn (which hasn't worked) beeped twice and my interior lights are on! Yeah or so I thought. Now it's Sunday morning my wife's on the back porch (she doesn't like the Vette) and the horn beeps once . Later the horn just goes off until I open the door then silences. I'm heading to the Greenville, Pa Heritage Days car show and I'm thinking what if the horn starts going off and I'm too far away to hear it. As a new owner and new member of the club I wouldn't want to embarrass them so I pulled the fuse and back to no horn.

I have three repair manuals and took a brief look at the Hayes one and it says don't screw with it unless you're a certified technician.
Can anyone tell me how to disarm or disable the theft system?

Hornless in Youngstown. Thanks

went to leave car show and I depressed clutch turned key nothing! Had to bump start the
vette. I heard a thump on initial key start but no clicking like a dead battery would give. On the way home a loud screeching noise like a wear indicator on a brake pad but my brakes have just been gone over so I'm thinking maybe starter Bendix stuck out and was hitting flywheel? I dunno . I checked battery when I got home and I had 12.6 volts. I charged the battery to 13.4 and still same results. I'm thinking either starter bad or clutch safety switch bad. Thoughts? I don't think its theft deterant I removed the fuse and disconnected the battery then reconnected battery.

I thought before I tear into this system lets try starting the car with the fuse for the horn and Theft system removed. I pushed the clutch pedal to the floor and it started and has continued to start?

Does anyone know the procedure for deactivating the Theft detterant system once it's engaged. I think that is the problem the former PO (there's been four) didn't know how to do it and pulled the fuse which also eliminated the horn and for safety purposes that would be bad. I would think and C4 from 84-86/87 would be the same system. Help if you can. and BTW Happy 4th to everyone stay safe out there!
