Wher to time spark?
I'm just getting back into cars so I'm a newbie with EFI & ECMs. Here's what I got:
89 coupe ZF-6
383 balanced
stock heads, ported, polished
Crane Powermax 2032 (Compucam 2032)
24# Ford injectors @50# (I have a feeling this is too high but it seems to minimise a dead spot in acceleration)
3 Gutted cats /w straightpipes (until I get a plan)
I initially set the timing (factory calls for 6 BTC, I've found 8 seems to work a little better). Is this simply for starting up cold or is this also a baseline for the timing all the time. I might try 10 degrees but when will I know when or where to stop?
I realize that I may have to get into chip programming but that is a winter project.
