Default Tick Question

In my "91" auto coupe with just over 20k on the clock, I have been hearing a tick or could be a exhaust leak. It all started when I got all my injectors and intake manifold gasket done about 2800 miles ago, when I got my car back the car ran great but ticked a little so I took it back, and the shop owner told that the L98 injectors are noisy, the reason I didnt hear it before was that I had four injectors not working, so he fired up another "91" and it sounded the same so I lived with it. shortly after I had a no start issue had to pull the starter, also had drop the exhaust to get the starter out (ended up being the neutral saftey switch)after reassembly I thought I had an exhaust leak a local shop tightened every thing up and it helped alot. but recently with the colder weather I have been hearing a tick or a leak, could my exhaust need a new gasket where the manifold meets the precat? Or are L98s just a little tickey? I only hear this out of the drivers side.

Some injectors are just noiser than others. If you hear it from a cold start all the way to operating temps, then it's most likely the injectors. Get a long screwdriver, put the tip on an injector and your ear on the other end. Listen to each injector in turn and see if any match the ticking sound. Listen to both sides, noises sometimes have a weird travel pattern.

Can you smell any exhaust? My only experience hearing an exhaust leak sound was after the engine got warm. And that was on a carbed engine.
