I got the stage II with aluminum flywheel package. The shop installed it in 2 hours! I thought I would post a success since some of the negative experiences with SPEC seem to be with fitment and installing it.
Once I get it broke in I will post the results. I have a little transmission rattle at idle and sometimes accelerating below 2k. No big deal.
Re: SPEC (Star) clutch installed with NO problems (ericcer)
I have a SPEC Stage III clutch with the aluminum flywheel and it has been perfect from day 1. It is a little noisier, but my cam and exhaust make it virtually unnoticable. The Stage III grabs very well, but can be touchy and takes some getting used to. I have over 12,000 miles on it now and it's still as strong as ever!
They took the tranny out, replaced the clutch and flywheel and reinstalled the transmission in 2 hours?! Holy crap they are good. Do you notice anything else besides a little more noise? Does the engine rev faster or shift any better?

 I had the same setup installed when the 383 was done. So far so good.
Re: SPEC (Star) clutch installed with NO problems (ericcer)
My SPEC II has also worked without a flaw. MORE perf. in Charlotte did the clutch / flywheel and 3:73's all at once. Works well..hooks hard and is Definately noisy, especially with a single mass fly..I would definately do it again.. I have about 1,000 miles on mine
I heard that the SPEC II and aluminum flywheel tend to chatter more..
I assume these all of you are using are Kevlar discs right?
Yes, my Spec stage 2 and aluminum flywheel is noisy. I don't mind.
Stage 2 = Kevlar disc
Stage 3 = Carbon Fiber disc
I meant more chatter when engaging the clutch.. not necessarily the noise.
Is it real grabby feeling? Also how streetable is it
I can't say that it's noisy when engaging it. I does make some noise while accelerating. It's gone after about 2000rpms. As far as grabby, I don't really think so. I happen to like it much better than the Centerforce I had before, and I fell it's actually easier than the stock clutch. The only thing I was worried about was keeping the revs up because of the flywheel, but with the 383's torque, that hasn't been an issue either.
My Stage III (with aluminum flywheel) quiets right done when the clutch is engaged, no rattleing at all. The stage III is a little grabby and takes some getting used to because of the "puck" type friction plate used. But like I said mine is a daily driver and I have had no issues with it...just took about 75 miles of driving to get to know it that's all.
Mine is noisy but grabs well and is easier to use than stock. Most of the chatter stops around 2000 and lots of people say I have a bad bearing until I put in the clutch and it gets real quiet.
