Default 84 AC question
Replacing AC compressor and dryer. How many oz of oil total needed. Compressor came w/ 3 oz. Thanks

I usually measure what comes out of the old compressor. An ounce is added at the time its recharged too.

I just replaced mine and the system needs 6-8 total and after reading several posts, I went with 7. My compressor came with 3 so I put 4 in the dryer. Blowing 47 degrees on a day that is 95 degrees. Good luck.

This is a great time to replace all the o-rings and lube them with the A/C oil. I did, then found the condenser was leaky!
