Default New Guy Needs Help

First, hello.... new guy in the forum here..and first time vette owner. Need some help on figuring out what I've done to my vette (95 coupe). On a whim, I had the cats gutted yesterday...after having seen some favorable comments from some vette owners in another forum. While I did notice some increase in acceleration, and a little louder exhaust note, I've also started having problems with the car overheating.... If I'm not moving on down the highway, the car temp starts climbing. I've checked the thermostat...it's ok...and don't see anything blocking the radiator. Any ideas on what I may have screwed up?? ...and how to fix it? Or is it possibly just coincidental...and the two have nothing in common? Thanks in advance for the advice.

most more and likely the situation is coincidence. Are you losing coolant? You might want to take apart the radiator assembly and give it a good cleaning. Trash accumulates between the radiator and the ac condensor, which is a very common overheating problem for our c4's.

Go back and check your O2 sensors. Either it is unplugged or giving an incorrect reading. DO you have any service codes showing up?

Howdy, TT.

Can you define overheating? LT1 and LT4 normal operating temps can run in the high 220's (the fans kick on at 228) and above. Especially down here. What kind of temps are you seeing?

LT4....the temp gauge pegs if the car sits without moving for more than 5 minutes.... haven't looked at the digital read out on it...
