ignition timing

I have an 84 with the 350 crossfire. I replaced the distributor and plugs and wires and I am trying to set the base time but I can not seem to disable the spark advance. Which connector is to be unplugged and what is it supposed to look like? Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

The manual states all vehicles have an est connector, so if thats true it is next to the brake booster ,a tan wire. it is a single connector. Only hook up unhook connector with ignition off .

Tan wire with a brown square connector around the brake booster.

Maybe the color changed with time, but my EST connector wire is tan with a black stripe:

I'm sure you are right Cliff. It's been decades since I saw that thing on my car! Just going by faded memory. Also the connector looks round, not square as I noted.
