Default Another LCD cluster problem

Hello all. I did somesearching on the topic but didn't have much luck.

I have an 87 vert. Last year I pulled the cluster to replace the dimmer sensor and somelight bulbs, cleaned all connectors etc. Worked great for a year. The new problem started, oddly enough, after I replaced my fuel pump....a coincidence I'm pretty sure. At 1st the display would be off for a minute when car was stated, took longer if it was wet out. I noticed it would come on after hitting the brake pedal, making me thing ground somewhere. Yesterday, it went totally dead, but just before, it read over voltage at 17V give or take. We drove about 4 hours and it came on twice, showed the voltage and then... dead.
I'll be pulling it out to start searching for the issue but just wanted to see if anyone has any input and pointer's so maybe I'll have a better idea where to look. BTW, a few segments began going out also when this trouble was starting.
Thanks you guys

Make sure it isn't really at 17 volts. Try Batee.com for more cluster info and repair services.

Hi
The dash board connector pins are the usual culprits, a bad connection will cause the dash to play up.
Batee has some of the common repair kits available on Ebay,
check the link below.

Had my dash go blank, replaced the connector pin set and problem solved.

You can also send the dash to batee to fix for you.
